Before you start

  • All governor adjustments must be made with Addco throttle actuator disconnected.

Procedure

  1. Check governor drive belt tension; belt in operation 10 minutes or more should be set at 100 ft. lbs. (135 Nm).
  2. Check spring spreader adjustment from centerline of eye to centerline of eye; dimension should be 1 5/8 inch.
  3. Manually move governor throttle lever to maximum high speed position; carburetor lever should have 1/32 to 1/16 inch travel remaining to stop.
  4. With throttle rod and Addco actuator disconnected, advance governor arm to high speed position and reconnect throttle rod.
  5. Start engine, warm up, set high engine speed at 2400 RPM by adjusting throttle rod.
  6. Set idle speed at 1000 RPM using carburetor idle adjustment screw.
  7. Remove Addco actuator cover; adjust slide pin (1) to contact idle limit switch at output rod end.
  8. Adjust slide pin (2) to contact high engine limit switch at 2400 RPM.
