Before you start

  • applications for proper reassembly (Fig. 15).
  • The position of the link in the rocker arm slots
  • and the position of the throttle return spring or the
  • positive throttle return spring on some model

Procedure

  1. Place new gasket on pump and position pump on
  2. Connect fuel inlet, outlet, and fuel tank return lines.
  3. Remove the bowl cover screws.
  4. Separate the bowl cover from the carburetor body. Do
  5. Remove the accelerating pump operating rod retainer
  6. Rotate the pump operating rod and disconnect the

  8. Rotate the pump operating rod and remove the rod
  9. Turn the carburetor body upside down and remove
  10. With a bearing scraper or a scraper ground from an
  11. Remove bowl vent valve from rod if so equipped. The
  12. Remove hot idle compensator valve cover, valve and
  13. 08 Fuel System ; 3-08
