Before you start
- If pump is damaged, replace with new or Ford-Authorized rebuilt pump
Procedure
- Drain cooling system; loosen alternator adjusting arm bolt.
- Remove alternator drive belt, fan, and pulley.
- Disconnect radiator lower hose and supply line at pump.
- Remove bolts attaching water pump to block.
- Remove pump and gasket.
- Install new gasket coated with sealer on water pump.
- Install pump and torque bolts; connect hoses and fan.
