Procedure
- Force crankshaft toward rear of engine.
- Install dial indicator so contact rests against crankshaft flange.
- Zero the dial indicator.
- Push crankshaft forward and note reading.
- If end play exceeds wear limit, replace thrust washers.
- If less than minimum, inspect thrust bearing faces.
