Procedure
- Push camshaft toward rear of engine.
- Install dial indicator on camshaft sprocket attaching screw or gear hub.
- Zero the dial indicator.
- Insert large screwdriver between camshaft gear and block.
- Pull camshaft forward and release; read indicator.
- If excessive, check spacer then replace thrust plate.
