Procedure

1. Secure one end of wire ropes in place on tip boom (fourth stage) with extend rope anchor. Also, secure the retract wire rope in place with return cable anchor.
2. With tip boom base-end wear pads in place, slide tip boom and wire ropes into outer mid boom (third stage).
3. Slide tip boom into outer mid boom (third stage); then, install rear wear pads onto outer mid boom (third stage). To install bottom wear pads, lift tip boom.
4. With wire ropes attached, slide telescope cylin- der into outer mid boom (third stage). Install retract rope guides and extend/ retract cable anchor along with wire ropes.
5. While supporting telescope cylinder, install outer mid boom (third stage).
6. Slide oufer mid boom (third stage) and wire ropes into inner mid boom (second stage) far enough to hook up the two extend wire ropes; then pull outer mid boom (third stage) and tip boom (fourth stage) back out enough to access sheaves.
7. Install wear pads onto rear of inner mid boom (second stage). To install bottom rear wear pads, lift outer mid boom third stage).
