Procedure
- If a Gorman-Rupp automatic air release valve is installed, close the throttling valve in the discharge line.
- The Gorman-Rupp valve automatically opens to allow the pump to prime and closes when priming is accomplished.
- After the pump is primed and liquid flows steadily from the bypass line, open the discharge throttling valve.
- If a hand operated shutoff valve is installed, close the discharge throttling valve and open the bypass shutoff valve.
- When primed and liquid flows steadily from the bypass line, close the bypass shutoff valve and open the discharge throttling valve.
