Before you start
- During de-aeration check coolant is circulating; overheating possible if air bubbles remain.
Procedure
- Open cooling water cap on water-cooled exhaust elbow union.
- Open de-aerating screw on thermostat housing.
- Open de-aerating screw on internal cooling water pump pipe socket.
- Fill prepared coolant mixture slowly at filler neck until coolant leaks at thermostat housing de-aerating screw.
- Screw cooling water cap firmly and close both de-aerating screws.
- Fill external expansion tank to max mark.
- Start generator and run max 2 minutes without load.
- Stop generator and wait about 1 minute for air to rise.
- Open all three ventilation points until cooling water exits; close immediately.
- Repeat de-aeration until no air exits.
- Repeat de-aeration during next few days.
