Before you start
- Discharge capacitors before touching.
Procedure
- Ensure capacitors are discharged.
- Visually check for dielectric leaks or swelling.
- Set multimeter to continuity/pass.
- Touch test prods to capacitor contacts; expect short beep from charge transfer.
- Reverse prods; expect short beep again.
- If steady sound or no sound, replace capacitor.
- Use capacity measuring instrument to verify imprinted capacity.
