Before you start
- Engine must be completely cold.
Procedure
- Ensure engine is completely cold.
- Remove valve cover with 10 mm spanner.
- Turn crankshaft pulley with 22 mm spanner until valve to be adjusted is closed and gap maximum.
- Check valve gap with feeler gauge; gap should be 0.145 to 0.185 mm.
- If adjustment needed, release locknut with 11 mm spanner.
- Adjust gap with screwdriver and retighten locknut.
- Recheck clearance and repeat if necessary.
- Repeat for other valves.
- Replace valve cover gasket and valve cover; tighten to 3.9 to 5.9 Nm.
