Before you start
- Fuel and vapors are extremely flammable
Procedure
- Treat any stored fuel with fuel stabilizer
- Run engine 5-10 minutes to circulate treated fuel before shutdown
- No need to drain gasoline if stabilizer added
- If draining, run outdoors until engine stops from lack of gasoline
- Turn fuel valve to OFF position prior to storage
- Allow generator to cool before cleaning and storage
- Change oil
- Remove spark plug, pour ~1 tsp engine oil into spark plug hole, pull recoil starter slowly to distribute oil, reinstall spark plug
- Cover generator and store in clean, dry place away from ignition sources
