Before you start
- Never start or stop generator with electrical devices plugged in
Procedure
- Check for loose/missing parts and shipping damage
- Move generator outdoors at least 20 ft (6m) from occupied spaces
- Disconnect all electrical loads
- Turn fuel cap vent lever to On
- Turn fuel valve to On
- Pull choke knob to Choke position
- Flip engine switch to On
- Pull starter cord slowly until resistance felt, then pull rapidly to start
- Push choke knob to Run position
- Allow generator to run at no load for a few minutes before plugging in devices
