Before you start
- Periodically clean circuit interior with a cleaner
Procedure
- Drain coolant.
- Remove thermostats so whole cooling system flows through.
- Fill cooling system with potable water and 1.5% by volume cleaner.
- Warm up engine under load; after 60°C, run 15 more minutes.
- Drain cleaning fluid.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4.
- Fill cooling system with hot water.
- Run engine at idle 30 minutes, replenishing fresh water as needed.
