Procedure
- Wash sheet metal and clean of foreign material; dry thoroughly.
- Clean and remove all grease and wax using Duponts 3900S Cleaner prior to sanding.
- Use 320 grit sanding paper to repair scratches or defects.
- Scuff sand the entire area with a red scotch brite pad.
- Wipe area clean using Duponts 3900S.
- Blow and tack the area to be painted.
- Apply a smooth coat of Duponts 1854S Tuffcoat Primer to all bare metal areas and allow to dry.
- Apply 2 medium-wet coats of Duponts 222S Adhesion Promoter with a 5 minute flash between coats.
- Apply texture coat using Duponts 1854S Tuffcoat Primer with pressure pot and 2-5 pounds air pressure; allow to flash 20 minutes.
- Apply Duponts Topcoat Finishes such as Imron or Centari according to label instructions.
