Deutz — Removal and Refitment of Air Compressor

Procedure

  1. Remove outer V-belt half-pulley together with shims.
  2. Remove V-belt.
  3. Remove shims and inner V-belt half-pulley.
  4. Take down lube oil pipe.
  5. Remove air compressor.
  6. Insert new O-seal, using grease.
  7. Fit air compressor in place, as indicated by arrow.
  8. Tighten bolts.
  9. Fit lube oil pipe together with new Cu sealing rings.
  10. Position inner V-belt half-pulley.
  11. Position removed shims.
  12. Fit V-belt and outer V-belt pulley.
  13. Position remaining shims, if provided. Finger start the bolts.
  14. Tighten bolts while turning engine over.
  15. Check belt tension. In case of failure to attain the specified scale reading, repeat procedure.

Tools required

  • V-belt tension gauge, Part No. 91107

Specs & torque values

  • V-belt tension: tension of new belt 510 (scale reading)
  • retension after 20 min: 410 (scale reading)
