Before you start

Procedure

  1. With the engine shut down, place a suitable
  2. Support the shell, unserew the cover nut and remove
  3. Remove and discard the element and gasket. Clean
  4. Place a new element, which has been thoroughly
  5. Affix a new shell gasket, place the shell and element
  6. Tighten the cover nut only enough to prevent fuel
  7. Remove the plug in the strainer or filter cover and
  8. Start and operate the engine and check the fuel
  9. Unscrew the filter (or strainer) and discard it.
  10. Fill a new filter replacement cartridge about two-
  11. Install the new filter assembly and tighten it to two-
  12. Start the engine and check for leaks.
  13. Fill the fuel tank with the recommended grade of
  14. Remove the fuel strainer shell and element from the
  15. Remove and fill the fuel filter shell and element
