Detroit Diesel — Remove Cover (Upper Front Cover)

Procedure
- Remove various parts and subassemblies as outlined in their sections.
- Remove pulleys from front end of camshaft and balance shaft or camshafts.
- Remove upper front cover-to-cylinder block attaching bolts.
- Tap cover and dowel pin assembly away from cylinder block.
- Remove Woodruff keys and oil seal spacers from shafts.
- Remove all traces of old gasket material.
