Procedure
- Resurface or replace follower if worn beyond limits.
- Reuse follower spring unless damaged, worn or fails test.
- Lap bushing seat in body; reblue; repair damaged threads.
- Recondition filter cap tapered seat; clean and deburr hole; reblue.
- Deburr control rack teeth and check straightness.
- Deburr gear and gear retainer; replace if cracked or significantly worn.
- Replace bushing if scored or cracked; lap check valve seat.
- Clean plunger; replace if scored, chipped or scratched.
- Lap check valve and check valve cage flat sealing surfaces.
- Replace valve spring unless absolutely no wear or damage.
- Regrind spray tip seat; lap flat sealing surface; replace if beyond flow limits.
- Remove carbon from injector nut seat and tapered ID; reblue.
