Detroit Diesel — Installation of the Rocker Cover

Before you start
- ENGINE EXHAUST — operate the engine in a well-ventilated area.
Procedure
- Install rocker cover gasket into groove in rocker cover.
- Install bolts or stud bolts and isolators into rocker cover.
- Install rocker cover onto camshaft housing.
- Finger tighten all bolts and stud bolts; then torque to 20 N·m (14 lb·ft).
- Install the two air filter brackets and torque the eight nuts to 20 N·m (14 lb·ft).
- Start the engine and check for leaks.

- Rocker cover bolts: 20 N·m (14 lb·ft)
- Air filter bracket nuts: 20 N·m (14 lb·ft)
