Detroit Diesel — Install Oil Seals (Upper Front Cover)

Procedure
- Support inner face of cover on wood blocks.
- Coat bore with non-hardening sealant if seal OD is not pre-coated.
- Position new oil seal with lip toward inner face of cover.
- Press seal into cover with installer J 9790 until flush with bottom of counterbore.
- Install second oil seal the same way.
- Remove excess sealant.
