Detroit Diesel — Install Fuel Injector

Before you start
- Do not bend fuel pipes or exceed specified torque.
Procedure
- Ensure injector tube seat is free of dirt and carbon.
- Fill injector with clean fuel oil at inlet filter until it runs out outlet.
- Install injector by reversing removal sequence.
- Tighten injector clamp bolt to 20-25 lb-ft (27-34 Nm).
- Tighten rocker shaft bolts to 90-100 lb-ft (122-136 Nm).
- Align fuel pipes and connect to injector and connectors.
- Tighten fuel pipe nuts to 12-15 lb-ft (16-20 Nm).
- Time injector and adjust exhaust valve clearance.
