Before you start

  • To avoid injury from fire, keep all potential ignition sources away from diesel fuel, open flames, sparks, and electrical resistance heating elements. Do not smoke when refueling.
  • The 45 degree elbow 4 must be pointing towards outside.

Procedure

  1. Remove the banjo fitting (1) from the fuel filter housing.
  2. Disconnect the banjo fitting (1) and extension (2) from the fuel return line.
  3. Discard the banjo fitting (1), the extension (2) and the seal ring.
  4. Install a new banjo fitting (1) and a new seal ring part # 000000001070. Banjo bolt to the fuel filter housing torque: 35 Nm (25 lb.ft). Fuel spill line to the banjo torque: 15 Nm (11 lb.ft).
  5. Install the fuel return line connecting the check valve (3) to the banjo fitting (1). Tighten 40 Nm (30 lb.ft).

  • Banjo bolt torque: 35 Nm (25 lb.ft)
  • Fuel spill line to banjo torque: 15 Nm (11 lb.ft)
  • Fuel return line tightening: 40 Nm (30 lb.ft)
