Before you start

  • New gasket must be ordered directly from Detroit Diesel

Procedure

  1. Verify engine cover gasket and replace if necessary
  2. Reinstall engine cover and tighten bolts to 18-22 Lbf·ft (25-30 N·m), in a criss-cross pattern
  3. Reconnect ventilation pipe to engine cover
  4. Reinstall air ducts

  • 18-22 Lbf·ft (25-30 N·m)
  • Criss-cross pattern
