Procedure

Remove thrust washer retaining snap ring with snap ring pliers; remove thrust washer.
Remove burrs from snap ring groove with fine stone.
Withdraw drive gear and shaft from support.
Support gear and shaft on wood blocks in arbor press.
Press drive gear shaft out of gear using short brass rod; catch shaft by hand.
