Detroit Diesel — Check Atomization and Spray Pattern

Procedure

1. Clamp injector properly and purge air from system.
2. Move lever 4 down.
3. Position injector rack in full-fuel position and pump lever 1 vertical.
4. Move lever 3 to forward detent position.
5. Depress follower rapidly at 40 to 80 strokes per minute.
6. Observe spray pattern for even dispersion from all orifices and sharp beginning and ending of injection.
