Procedure
- Lubricate drive gear end of shaft with engine oil; start shaft into drive gear from recessed side.
- Press shaft straight into drive gear approximately one half inch.
- Lubricate shaft and insert into support bore.
- Place thrust washer with oil groove side facing support; install snap ring.
- Press drive gear shaft into drive gear until thrust washer-to-support clearance is .004 to .006 in.
