Procedure
- Lubricate shaft with clean engine oil and insert into support.
- Assemble thrust washer and snap ring on shaft.
- Install key in shaft if removed.
- Place shaft and support in arbor press.
- Align gear keyway with shaft key and press gear on until gear-to-support clearance is .004 to .006 in.
