Before you start

  • Self tensioning idler on V-1710 requires no adjustment

Procedure

  1. Loosen capscrews and lockwashers or locknut securing idler pulley
  2. Use pry bar or adjusting screw to adjust idler pulley until proper belt tension is indicated on gauge
  3. Secure idler pulley in position by tightening locknut or capscrews and lockwashers to 45 to 55 ft-lbs torque

Tools required

  • Pry bar or adjusting screw
  • Belt tension gauge

  • Idler pulley torque: 45 to 55 ft-lbs
