Before you start

  • Filing the contact face destroys the mating surfaces.

Procedure

  1. Remove the plastic hood from the transfer switch.
  2. Remove the washers and springs.
  3. Lift the contacts from the slide posts.
  4. Remove attaching screws from the stationary contacts.
  5. Install new contacts with curved silver contact surfaces facing inward.
  6. Reassemble the springs and washers.
  7. Reinstall the plastic hood.

Specs & torque values

  • 30, 60 through 100, or 200 and 400 ampere transfer switch ratings
