Procedure

1. Unsolder leadwires from the diode terminal.
2. Remove the defective diode from the assembly.
3. Install new diode ensuring correct polarity (stripe mark orientation).
4. Solder leadwire to new diode terminal.
5. Test continuity and polarity of new diode installation.
6. Inspect solder joint for cold solder or contamination.
7. Clean excess flux from surrounding components.
8. Verify diode function before reassembling generator.
