Before you start

  • CAUTION: Improper disassembly may allow rewind spring to release wildly and cause personal injury.

Procedure

  1. First perform procedure given for starter disassembly.
  2. Starting with the inside loop, remove re-wind spring #18 carefully from cover #20 by pulling out one loop at a time, holding back rest of turns.
  3. Note that starting from the outermost coil of the spring, the spring must be wound in crankshaft rotation direction.
