Before you start

  • Liquid LP gas presents a hazard of fire or explosion that can result in severe personal injury or death. Eliminate all sources of ignition and provide adequate ventilation before purging the fuel system.

Procedure

  1. Close the shutoff valve at the fuel tank.
  2. Start the generator set and run until it runs out of fuel.
  3. Crank the engine a few times after it stops to make sure it is completely purged of fuel.
  4. Move the recreational vehicle to a well-ventilated location away from any ignition source.
  5. Remove the vehicle negative (-) battery ground cable and the generator set negative (-) ground cable.
  6. Close the fuel shutoff valves at the tank for both the generator set and appliance fuel supply systems, and at each appliance.
  7. Slightly open the flexible section of fuel line at the solenoid valve to allow gas to escape slowly.
  8. Disconnect the fuel supply hose from the carburetor and hold it clear of the set.
  9. Press and hold the primer button on the regulator to release LP gas from the set fuel system.
  10. When no more gas can be heard escaping, reconnect the hose to the carburetor.
