Before you start
- Only use soapy water or a nonflammable solvent for cleaning components.
- Never run the engine without the air cleaner installed.
Procedure
- Remove the filter cover by unsnapping the two spring clips.
- Remove the two foam filter elements and thoroughly wash them with soap and water; let them dry thoroughly.
- Knead in 1 teaspoon (5 cm3) of clean engine oil into each foam filter element.
- Reinstall the filter elements, the gray filter first (finer pores), and then the black filter (larger pores).
- Secure the cover with the spring clips.
