Before you start
- Replace the spark arrestor if damaged; must be free of breaks and tears.
Procedure
- Place the generator on a level surface and allow the muffler to cool.
- Remove the cover screws and the muffler cover; use a screwdriver to remove the spark arrestor.
- Remove carbon deposits from the spark arrestor screen with a wire brush.
- Reinstall the spark arrestor and muffler cover.
