Before you start
- Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs or other abrasive means.
Procedure
- Disconnect negative battery cable.
- Remove/disconnect components for access.
- Disconnect VCT connector and ignition coil connectors.
- Disconnect crankcase ventilation tube quick connect coupling.
- Remove bolts and camshaft cover. Discard main valve cover seal.
- Clean sealing surface; inspect VCT oil control solenoid seals and spark plug tube seals.
- Remove damaged seals with special tools 205-153, 205-142, 303-1247.
