Procedure
- Disconnect ground cable from battery terminal.
- Remove and tag each electrical connection from the alternator.
- Loosen alternator support nut and cap-screw and adjusting link cap-screw.
- Push alternator toward engine to release belt tension and remove belt(s).
- Remove adjusting link, mounting cap-screws and alternator.
- Position new alternator on bracket and secure with mounting cap-screws (do not tighten).
- Connect alternator link and install belt; adjust belt tension.
- Tighten adjusting link capscrew and support capscrew to specified torques.
- Install and tighten electrical connections to alternator and battery.
