Before you start
- To avoid personal injury, use extreme caution when making adjustments while the engine is running. Do not touch hot exhaust pipes or moving parts
- do not wear loose clothing that may be caught in moving parts.
Procedure
- Before making governor adjustments, run the unit about 10 minutes under light load to reach normal operating temperature.
- Adjust the carburetor before making any adjustments to the governor.
- Check the governor linkage and throttle shaft for binding or excessive looseness. The engine starts at wide open throttle.
- With the warmed-up set operating at NO LOAD, adjust the tension of the governor spring. Turn the speed adjusting nut to obtain a voltage of 130 volts (for 120 volt operation).

- Voltmeter or frequency meter
