Procedure

  1. The speed at which the engine operates is determined by the tension applied to the governor spring.
  2. Increasing spring tension increases engine speed.
  3. Decreasing spring tension decreases engine speed.
  4. The no-load speed of the engine should be slightly higher than full-load speed.
  5. Speed must agree with load requirements for continuous operation.
