Cummins/Onan — Generator Stator and Rotor Assembly Torquing

For these Cummins/Onan models: 5.5HDKBA-2732A, F000 123456.

Procedure

  1. Install stator and end bell.
  2. Torque nuts on through-studs to 19-21 ft-lbs (26-28 N•m).
  3. Make certain the B1 lead is placed through the grommet in the baffle ring and out the air discharge opening in the adapter.
  4. Torque the rotor-through-stud nut to 55-60 ft-lbs (75-81 N•m).
  5. Torque the stator through bolts and end bell bracket bolts to 8 lb-ft (11 N•m).
  6. Torque the fan hub bolt to 45 lb-ft (61 N•m).
  7. To keep the rotor from turning while tightening the fan bolt, hold the pulley bolt with a wrench.

Specs & torque values

  • Stator through bolts and end bell bracket bolts torque: 8 lb-ft (11 N•m)
  • Fan hub bolt torque: 45 lb-ft (61 N•m)
