Before you start

  • Generator fan will be removed with rotor

Procedure

  1. Loosen the thru bolt 2-3 turns
  2. Break the rotor loose from taper by striking the bolt head with a heavy lead mallet
  3. If rotor can be rocked slightly back and forth in place, remove thru bolt
  4. Pull rotor away from engine
  5. If rotor is not loose, repeat procedure

Tools required

  • heavy lead mallet
