Cummins/Onan — Generator Removal and Stator Service
For these Cummins/Onan models: MDKAA, MDKAB, MDKAL.

Before you start
- Tip the generator end up slightly with hoist
- Block the flywheel housing to support engine during generator service
- Scribe lines before separating components for proper reassembly registration
Procedure
- 4. Cinch a strap around the middle of the genera-
- 5. Scribe lines before separating the end bell from
- 6. Remove the four nuts on the throughbolts and
- 7. Tap the stator free of the flywheel housing,
- 8. Cinch a strap around the rotor and remove the
- 9. Use a gear puller to remove the rotor bearing
- 1. Press a new exciter rotor or rotor shaft bearing
- 2. Torque the six disc-to-hub bolts (Figure 17) to
