Before you start

  • Gasoline is highly flammable and can cause severe personal injury or death. Let the engine cool and close any fuel line shutoff valve before disconnecting the fuel line from the filter. Do not smoke or turn electrical switches ON or OFF where fuel fumes, tanks or equipment are present or in areas sharing ventilation. Keep flame, sparks, pilot lights, arc-producing equipment and switches and all other sources of ignition well away. Keep a type ABC fire extinguisher in the vehicle.

Procedure

  1. Take care to spill as little fuel as possible when disconnecting the filter from the fuel line.
  2. Close any shut off valve in the fuel line and let the engine cool down before disconnecting the fuel line.
  3. The filter is removable by loosening the hose clamps shown.
