Before you start
- Weight of frame could bend or distort armature shaft if dropped
Procedure
- Disconnect all line wires or batteries.
- Remove accessories mounted on generator frame such as control box, gasoline tank, etc.
- Raise generator brushes in holders until brush springs lock them raised.
- Loosen four bolts clamping generator frame to crankcase, removing bottom ones first.
- Carefully remove frame without letting it touch or rest on armature.
