Before you start
- Never pull one bolt down tight until others are nearly tight
Procedure
- Reverse disassembly procedure.
- Ensure all parts are clean.
- Grease end surface of armature shaft over thru stud to prevent rusting.
- Check rear main bearing oil seal.
- Remove bearing cap from rear of generator.
- Clean bearing surface in frame and bearing on armature shaft.
- Install frame over armature carefully.
- Tighten four retaining bolts gradually and alternately.
- Repack ball bearing with ball bearing grease only.
