Before you start
- Never pull one bolt down tight until the others are nearly tight.
Procedure
- Be sure all parts are clean.
- Grease the end surface of the armature shaft over the thru stud to prevent rusting.
- Check the rear main bearing oil seal.
- Remove the bearing cap from the rear of the generator and clean bearing surfaces.
- Install the frame over the armature carefully, tightening the four bolts gradually and alternately.
- Repack the ball bearing with ball bearing grease only.
