Before you start
- Never use emery cloth or emery paper
Procedure
- Cut a strip of #00 sandpaper slightly wider than the brush.
- Place the brush in its holder.
- Place the sandpaper under the brush with its sanded surface next to the brush.
- Pull the sandpaper in the direction of commutator rotation following the commutator curvature.
- Lift the brush clear and return the sandpaper; repeat until a satisfactory seat is obtained.
