Procedure

1. 1. Loosen the closure plate screws, then slide the
2. 2. Remove the oil pressure relief valve ball and
3. 3. Measure the free length of the spring—length
4. 4. Scribe a line across the camshaft bore plug
5. 5. Loosen and remove the crankcase nuts and
6. 6. Put tape or governor spring around the tappet
7. 7. Lay crankcase down so that #2 sideis up. Locate
8. 1. Remove the camshaft, pulling it from the #1 side
9. 2. Lift tappets from crankcase.
10. 3. If tappets are to be reused they must be marked,
11. 4. Lift the crankshaft out of the crankcase. Slide
