Before you start
- Do not attempt to repair a broken exhaust pipe or manifold by welding.
Procedure
- Remove heat shields as described in the previous section.
- Loosen muffler clamp and support hanger clamps; remove muffler and tailpipe assembly.
- Loosen exhaust downpipe flange bolts; remove downpipe and asbestos flange gasket.
- Loosen four exhaust manifold bolts; remove exhaust manifold and two manifold gaskets.
