Before you start

  • Failure to wring out excess oil may cause a drop in engine power.

Procedure

  1. Do not remove the inner air cleaner cover.
  2. Remove and wash foam wrapper in water and detergent.
  3. Squeeze foam wrapper dry like a sponge.
  4. Rinse with clean water and allow to dry.
  5. Coat wrapper evenly with one tablespoon (14 grams) SAE 30 engine oil.
  6. Knead oil into the wrapper and wring out excess oil.
  7. Install wrapper over paper element, covering all exposed pleats.
