Procedure

  1. 1. Remove connections to controls and battery at the
  2. 2. Remove nut-holding rear mounting bracket to the
  3. 4. Remove flywheel (early models).
  4. 5. Remove the three cap screws holding the starting
  5. 6. Remove the link pin holding the shift lever to the
  6. 7. Remove the thru bolts from the commutator end of
  7. 8. Pull the cast housing from the front end of the
  8. 9. To remove the over-running clutch from the arma-
  9. 10. If necessary to service the solenoid, remove the
  10. 11. If it is necessary to remove the starting motor
